Opportunities for Graduating Students

The professional accounting legacy bodies of CA, CGA and CMA all have awards that are for the graduating students of Okanagan College:

CA Education Foundation Award
Students can apply to the CA Education Foundation for one of seven $1,000 tuition awards.  Students must be in their final year of their diploma or degree program, include a letter indicating intention to become a CA, and submit an application form to the CA Education Foundation.  Students will receive their award upon registering with the CASB or the ACIA program.

CGA Continuing Education Tuition Scholarships

The Certified General Accountants Association of B.C. annually awards two CGA Continuing Education Tuition Scholarships of $2,000 each to graduates of the BBA (Accounting) degree program at Okanagan College.  The scholarship will be credited towards tuition fees when the recipient enrols in the Prerequisite Education Program or the Professional Education Program of the Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia.  This scholarship is valid for the academic year following the award; the academic year is from September to June.  Click on CGA Continuing Education Tuition Scholarship  to download the application.  Okanagan College will review the applications and make a recommendation to the Certified General Accountants Association of B.C. in June.

Dick Lucas Memorial CMABC Scholarship

CMABC offers the Dick Lucas Memorial CMA Scholarship as a remission of fees award in the amount of $2,500 redeemable toward Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) certification program dues and tuition for a three-year period following its award.  The purpose of Dick Lucas Memorial Scholarship is to promote the study of management accounting and careers in industry.  The scholarship recognizes students displaying potential in this field of study and encourages continuation and pursuit of the CPA professional accounting designation.  The award will go to the student with the highest final mark in Advanced Managerial Accounting, BUAD 366, in each year July 1st – June 30th, that applies for the award.  Click on Dick Lucas Memorial CMABC Scholarship to download the application form.  Okanagan College will review the applications and make a recommendation to the Certified Management Accountants Society in June.
